Committee for Tourism Development of Kazan

Kazan is a progressive, modern and at the same time ancient city associated with bright historical events, unique architecture, great culture. It is a city with a thousand-year-old history, the richest national traditions, where the West and the East merge together. All this causes a natural interest among the guests of the capital.

Today, our city has the status of “The Third Capital of Russia”, “The Sports Capital of Russia”, “The City of Labor Valor”, as well as the “ The Gastronomic Capital of Russia”. The bright gastronomic diversity is reflected both in the national and Western European cuisines presented in Kazan. This fact is regularly noted by our guests.

In addition, in 2018, our capital was given the award of the National Geographic as the city with the most delicious cuisine. Such traditional events as the country’s largest gastronomic festival “Delicious Kazan” (65 thousand visitors in 2019) and the KyshDaKar-fest winter festival and fair (more than 200 thousand visitors in 2019) fully reveals the gastronomic and tourism potential of our city.

Taking into account all of the abovementioned, in 2020, the Committee for Tourism Development of Kazan came out with a proposal to apply for registration of the brand “Kazan – the gastronomic capital of Russia”, and on January 22, 2021, the trademark was registered.
